Westphal Staffing is partnering with a local financial institution that is looking for an experienced Vice President of Operations to join its leadership team. This is a high-impact role for someone who understands banking operations but also genuinely enjoys leading people, improving processes, solving problems, and creating a great customer experience.
You’ll have oversight of several key areas, including deposit operations, retail and branch operations, facilities, customer service, electronic banking, risk management, and compliance. You’ll also work closely with other leaders to develop policies, set operational goals, and keep the organization moving forward.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead and oversee day-to-day bank operations across multiple functional areas
- Coach, train, develop, and motivate employees to build a strong team
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies, and the overall customer experience
- Help develop and implement operational policies and procedures
- Ensure banking operations remain compliant with applicable regulations
- Oversee internal controls, general security, and facilities
- Partner with leadership on short- and long-term operational, people, and financial goals
- Help ensure customers receive the exceptional service they expect
What we’re looking for:
- 5–10 years of operations experience within a financial institution
- Previous experience directly supervising and developing employees
- Strong knowledge of banking operations
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Someone who is resourceful, organized, innovative, and comfortable making decisions
- A leader who can solve problems while creating a collaborative and motivating team environment
- Strong commitment to ethics, confidentiality, and customer service
