Leave Management Specialist – Duluth, MN
We are seeking a Leave Management Specialist to support a healthcare organization with the administration and coordination of employee leave programs. This role will focus heavily on managing employee leave cases and ensuring compliance with FMLA and state leave laws, particularly Minnesota Paid Leave requirements beginning ASAP.
Location: Duluth, MN
Pay: $24.14 – $29.57/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, approximately 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM (flexible)
Duration: 3–6 month temporary assignment

Position Overview:
This role will manage a high volume of employee leave cases, including intermittent and extended leaves. The specialist will serve as a key point of contact for employees and managers, helping ensure leave requests are handled accurately and in compliance with company policies and state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

Administer and manage employee leaves of absence including FMLA, disability, and other leave programs

Ensure compliance with state and federal leave regulations, including Minnesota leave laws

Review and track leave documentation and medical certifications

Communicate with employees, managers, and HR teams regarding leave status and eligibility

Maintain accurate leave records and case tracking

Provide guidance on return-to-work processes and accommodations
Qualifications:

Experience managing FMLA and leave of absence cases

Knowledge of state and federal leave laws

Strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines

Experience with HRIS systems is a plus (Kronos/UKG preferred)
