Westphal Staffing is partnering with a well-established nonprofit organization in the Wausau area to find a Staff Accountant to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys accounting but also wants to work in a people-focused, mission-driven environment dedicated to strengthening the local community.
In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative Finance/HR team and handle a nice variety of responsibilities, including:
- Accounts payable and bank reconciliations
- Payroll support and journal entries
- Month-end close and financial reporting
- Vendor records, 1099s and sales tax reporting
- Budget and annual audit support
- Supporting the team and organization wherever needed
What we’re looking for:
- 1–4 years of accounting experience
- Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Experience with AP, payroll and general accounting
- Strong Excel and accounting system skills
- Detail-oriented, organized and comfortable juggling multiple priorities
- Most importantly, someone who enjoys being part of a collaborative team and contributing to an organization with a meaningful mission
